Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is prepared to take another 12-month sabbatical in order to land the Manchester United job, according to The Sun.
Guardiola, 44, is widely expected to leave Bayern at the end of the season when his current contract expires and he has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester City and United.
Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting United were not interested in sacking Louis van Gaal to move for Guardiola at the end of the season, making City the frontrunners.
However, according to The Sun, Guardiola is prepared to wait for Van Gaal’s contract to expire in 2017 in order to become United manager.
The Red Devils are currently in a goalscoring rut having drawn five of their last nine matches 0-0.
