Everton back underfire Koeman

Everton are not interested in sacking Ronald Koeman and will give their underfire manager more time to turn the club’s fortunes around after their poor start to the season, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The Toffees have lost three matches in a row for the first time under Koeman after they were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United on Sunday and have arguably gone backwards despite a summer of huge investment in the squad.

Everton spent in the region of £140m on new players to bolster their chances of securing European football but currently occupy the final spot in the bottom three after winning just one of their opening five league matches.

The Merseyside outfit have only scored two league goals all season and have failed to find the net in their last 404 minutes of action in all competitions leading to suggestions Koeman could be the next manager to lose his job in the Premier League.

However, Koeman is expected to be given time to get the club back on track and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is unlikely to make any rash decisions despite a disastrous few months.
