Bayern lose Robben for a month

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will be without Arjen Robben for up to a month after the winger was forced off with an adductor injury during Netherlands’s 1-0 loss to Iceland on Thursday, the club has confirmed.

Robben, 31, has only started in 103 of 207 league games (49.8%) since he joined the club from Real Madrid in 2009, having seen his career savaged by injuries.

The former Chelsea winger is now set to miss league games against Augsburg, Darmstadt, Wolfsburg and Mainz, as well as Champions League fixtures versus Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb. Guardiola will be hoping to have his star back for their massive clash against title rivals Borussia Dortmund in exactly one months time.

Despite struggling to string together a consistent run of games over a prolonged period, the Netherlands captain has still been one of Bayern’s top performers.
