Why Ajax wonderkid De Ligt is unlikely to make Premier League move
Top Premier League sides have scouted Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt but are unlikely to move for the defender at the end of the season due to his agent, Mino Raiola, claims The Daily Mirror.
Ajax have already agreed to sell Frankie de Jong to Barcelona in the summer and De Ligt is also expected to complete a big money move away from the Dutch giants before the start of next season.
De Ligt is regarded as the best young defender in Europe and has already been heavily linked with moves to Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City.
However, Premier League clubs have been put off a deal for the 19-year-old due to the problems his agent often brings with his clients.
Manchester United heavily invested in Raiola clients during the summer of 2016 and the fallout has sent the club into crisis.
Raiola tried to engineer a sensational move for Paul Pogba to join City and Jose Mourinho will argue the super-agent cost him his job at Old Trafford.
City manager Pep Guardiola also has a poor relationship with the 51-year-old and is unlikely to pursue the Dutch centre-back despite his obvious class.
The Ajax teen is the highest WhoScored rated player in the Eredivisie this season (7.37), while he has impressively completed 91.8% of his passes.
