Former Inter manager not interested in Leicester job, says agent
The agent of former Inter manager Frank de Boer has ruled his client out of the running for the job of replacing Claudio Ranieri as Leicester City manager.
The Foxes made the shock decision to sack Ranieri on Thursday night with the club only one point above the bottom three after what has been a horrendous defence of their Premier League title.
Leicester are already on the search for the right manager to steer them clear of the bottom three, but will have to look elsewhere with De Boer not interested in the job.
“There is zero possibility that Frank could go to Leicester,” his agent, Guido Albers, told Tuttomercatoweb, via Football Italia. “I too heard these rumours, but that’s all they are - rumours. I can affirm without doubt that Frank will not become Leicester City manager. This will 100 per cent not happen.
“As I already explained in the past, my client’s objective is to start a new project from the beginning. He will not consider any jobs for mid-season. He is evaluating carefully so he can choose the best option for 2017-18.”
De Boer has been out of work since being sacked as Inter manager at the start of November although he has been regularly linked with a job in the Premier League.
The Dutchman only lasted 14 games in charge of the Serie A giants after taking over from Roberto Mancini, who has also denied contact with Leicester, just before the current campaign started in which he only managed five wins.
