Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to sign unwanted Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata at the end of the season, reports Spanish publication AS.
Conte convinced Morata to leave Real Madrid for Juventus in 2014, where he enjoyed mixed success, but impressed on the big occasion.
The Spain international has, however, made just nine league starts following his return to the Bernabeu, heightening speculation that he will leave at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old is contracted to Real Madrid until 2022, with the club under no pressure to sell the striker, but he is yet to convince head coach Zinedine Zidane, increasing the likelihood that he will be sold in the summer.
Conte has supposedly informed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich of his desire to sign Morata, with the Blues expected to move for the frontman once the transfer window opens.
Abramovich would be willing to sanction a €65m move for Morata, which could convince Real Madrid to sell and use the funds raised to move for teenage striking sensation Kylian Mbappe.
Despite a lack of game time, Morata is still involved in a league goal every 89 minutes for Los Blancos this season.
