Manchester United interested in signing Atletico Madrid veteran
Manchester United have made a shock approach for Atletico Madrid veteran Diego Godin, claims Sky Sports.
Godin is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the world and was linked to Juventus earlier in the summer.
The 32-year-old has a €20m release clause and United have approached Atletico about a potential switch on deadline day.
United boss Jose Mourinho has already conceded he is not expecting the club to make any signings but their frantic search for a new centre-back continues.
Mourinho’s side have already been heavily linked with moves for Premier League duo Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld, while Jerome Boateng has turned down United’s advances.
