Roma weigh up swap deal for Fiorentina midfielder

Roma could use Leandro Paredes as bait in a swap deal to sign Fiorentina midfielder Borja Valero, according to Tuttosport, via Football Italia.

Giallorossi head coach Luciano Spalletti is reportedly a big admirer of the 31-year-old Fiorentina midfielder and is hopeful of luring him to the Olimpico next season.

However, in order to sign the Spanish playmaker, Roma may be forced to part ways with 21-year-old attacking midfielder Paredes, who is on Fiorentina’s radar.

Paredes has spent the season on loan at Empoli and has enjoyed a relatively impressive campaign. In his 31 appearances in the league this season he has scored two goals and registered one assists.

Valero, meanwhile, has played a direct hand in 10 league goals this season from 35 league appearances (four goals, six assists). Not only that, but he has created more chances than any other Viola teammate this season (71).
