Madrid youngster wants Espanyol stay

 

Spanish teen Marco Asensio has ruled out cutting his loan spell at Espanyol early to return to Real Madrid in January.

 

Asensio has impressed since joining Espanyol on loan and there had been suggestions he could return to Madrid.

 

However, the Spain U21 international has no intentions of returning to Madrid this season and wants to see out the campaign with the Barcelona-based team.

 

“I have not spoken with people from Madrid. My intention is to play here all year. I am very comfortable in this team,” Asensio told AS.

The 19-year-old is currently Espanyol’s highest rated player, according to WhoScored (7.04), having registered three assists in six appearances in La Liga this season.
