Hull City have announced they have completed a deal to sign Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia on loan for the remainder of the season.
Ranocchia, 28, has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League after dropping down the pecking order at San Siro in the last two seasons.
The Italy international joins Hull to provide Marco Silva’s side with a much-needed boost ahead of what is going to be a very difficult remainder of the season.
Hull are already struggling with a number of injuries and have had their squad picked a part this month, while they are still two points adrift of safety in the Premier League.
No defender is averaging more tackles per game in Serie A this season than Ranocchia (3.4), who will provide competition for places with Harry Maguire, Michael Dawson and Curtis Davies at the heart of their defence.
