Southampton re-sign Walcott 14 years on

Southampton have confirmed the return of Everton winger Theo Walcott on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 31-year-old returns to St. Marys 14 years after he left for Arsenal as a 16-year-old wonderkid.

Walcott spent more than a decade at Arsenal before being offloaded to Everton in January 2018 and now he has returned to his boyhood club.

The former England international dropped down the pecking order at Everton over the summer and Carlo Ancelotti has sanctioned his departure on loan.

Walcott has entered the final 12 months of his existing Everton deal and the Toffees will effectively pay his £110,000-a-week deal for Southampton right up until it expires.
