Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic closes in on new club
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is closing in on a move to Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy the frontrunners for his signature, reports ESPN.
The 36-year-old was heavily linked with a move stateside towards the end of last season before a serious knee injury sustained in April put an end to talks.
Ibrahimovic ended up renewing with Manchester United in the summer but has struggled to rediscover his old mojo since returning.
The former Sweden international has missed the last four weeks after suffering a set-back in his return to full fitness but is expected back in full training at the start of February.
United are not expected to renew Ibrahimovic’s contract at the end of the season following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez this month and the veteran striker is now expected to see out his career in Los Angeles, although there is a long way to go before a deal can be finalised.
Ibrahimovic has managed seven appearances for United this season, managing one goal in 187 minutes of playing time.
