Kroos signs new Madrid deal

Real Madrid have announced Toni Kroos has put pen to paper on a bumper two-year contract extension keeping him at the club until June 2022.

Kroos, 26, had been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Manchester City but both will now have to look for alternative central midfielders.

The Germany international originally penned a six-year deal when he joined from Bayern Munich in 2014 and has added a further two-years to that deal, which has included a significant wage hike.

“Real Madrid C.F. and Toni Kroos have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will see the player linked to the club until 30 June 2022,” read a statement on Madrid’s official website.
