Vidal trying to convince Arsenal star to join Bayern Munich
Arturo Vidal has revealed he is trying to convince Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal and join Bayern Munich this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have earmarked the signing of the Arsenal star as one of their main priorities this summer and Bayern have enlisted the help of Sanchez’s international teammate to try and get a deal over the line.
Sanchez has 12 months left to run on his existing Arsenal deal but the Gunners are hopeful of securing his long-term future by making him the best-paid player in the club’s history, although it remains to be seen whether that will be enough to convince the 28-year-old to stay in north London.
Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen to sign Sanchez this summer but Arsene Wenger has already revealed he will not strengthen one of his direct rivals, which should benefit Bayern in the race to sign the Chile international and now Vidal has revealed his role in the potential deal.
According to CNN, Vidal told reporters upon arriving in Chile that he has been sending the Arsenal star WhatsApp messages to convince him to take the opportunity to join a big club like Bayern this summer.
Sanchez scored in Arsenal’s FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea last weekend to cap a fine individual campaign for the former Barcelona forward. The Arsenal No.7 finished with the most goals he has ever scored in a single league campaign (24), while also providing 10 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
Not only that, but only Eden Hazard (7.81) finished the campaign with a higher WhoScored rating in the Premier League than Sanchez (7.76).
