Pep Guardiola has agreed to take over at Manchester City at the end of the season, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.
The Spaniard has long been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, with the club's owners big fans of the work he has done for Barcelona and current club Bayern Munich.
The Spanish publication suggests there is a verbal agreement in place between Guardiola and director of football Txixi Begiristain.
Guardiola's contract with Bayern runs out next summer and both parties are yet to instigate talks over a new deal.
Rumours will understandably leave Manuel Pellegrini in a troubling position after the Chilean signed a new contract until 2017 in the summer, though the current City boss has been linked with the Etihad exit door on a number of occasions in recent months.
Regardless, Pellegrini has overseen a bright start to the season, with his City side currently topping the Premier League after the opening eight games.
