Arsenal are in talks to sign Porto winger Yacine Brahimi on a free transfer, claims Sky Sports.
Brahimi is officially a free agent after his contract with Porto expired over the weekend.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is desperate to bolster his squad but is working off a restricted budget.
The Gunners reportedly have just £45m to spend on transfer fees this summer and are struggling to get deals over the line in an over-inflated market.
Bolstering Arsenal’s wide areas is one of the key area Emery is looking to address and his first choice target is Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
The Ivory Coast international is reportedly keen to join Arsenal but Palace’s valuation is more than Arsenal’s entire budget.
Arsenal will not be able to afford Zaha unless Palace slash their asking price but they are under no pressure to sell the 26-year-old due to the fact he has four years left to run on his current deal.
Arsenal are now looking at alternative targets and are in talks to sign Brahimi on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old has spent the last five years at Porto and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in that period.
Brahimi has played a direct hand in 37 goals in 87 league matches over the last three league campaigns and completed at least 167 more dribbles than any other player in the division (339).
