Arsenal have made contact with Monaco over the availability of Marcel Tisserand, according to Get French Football.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a new central defender before the transfer window shuts in under two weeks time and is beginning to look at alternative options after talks broke down with Valencia for Shkodran Mustafi.
Tisserand, 23, has spent the last two seasons on loan with Toulouse but is looking to leave Monaco this summer in search of regular playing time.
Only Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro (371) has completed more tackles and interceptions in the last three Ligue 1 seasons than Tisserand (254).
