Real Madrid outcast Rodriguez available for €25m

James Rodriguez is determined to leave Real Madrid this summer and has been made available for transfer for just €25m (£22.6m), claims Marca.

The Colombia international has dropped completely out of favour under Zinedine Zidane since returning from a two-year loan stint with Bayern Munich last summer.

Napoli and Atletico Madrid were interested in signing Rodriguez for around €50m (£45.3m) following his return but talks collapsed.

Rodriguez has been limited to just five league starts for Madrid this season and reportedly refused to travel with the squad for Sunday's 1-0 win away to Athletic Club.

The 28-year-old's stock has plummetted so much in the last 12 months that Madrid president Florentino Perez has even slashed the club's asking price by half.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly keen on reuniting with Rodriguez this summer and a €25m price tag is certainly without reach for the Toffees.

Though it remains to be seen whether Everton will be able to agree personal terms with Rodriguez and even convince the playmaker to move to Goodison Park.

Rodriguez was considered one of the most exicting players on the planet after a stunning 2014 World Cup campaign.

He finished the World Cup in Brazil as top scorer to earn a £63m move to Madrid from Monaco but his career has drifted in recent years.

Rodriguez finished his two-year stint with Bayern with 28 goals and assists 43 league appearances but struggled to make a real impact in Germany.
