Inter interested in United defender

Inter manager Frank de Boer has Manchester United defender Daley Blind on his radar but admits a deal looks unlikely.

De Boer, 46, replaced Roberto Mancini as Inter manager earlier this month and has been casting his eye over the transfer market for players to mould his squad.

The Dutchman worked with Blind during their time at Ajax before he moved to United but De Boer feels it would be hard to prize him away from Old Trafford.

“We have a lot of good defenders here but we’ll see,” The Daily Mail quote De Boer as saying.

“I like him as a player for sure, he’s fantastic. He is very happy at Manchester United though and played in the Community Shield.

“I know his situation and I think he’s very happy and playing with confidence but we’ll see in the future.”

Blind was expected to be sold by manager Jose Mourinho but the Netherlands international has reportedly won over his new manager and now has a future at the club.

In the last three Premier League campaigns Blind has made at least 75 more tackles and interceptions than any other United player (321).
