Manchester City have pulled out of the race to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba paving the way for Manchester United to make their move, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Pogba, 24, left United for Juventus on a free in 2012 but has since developed into one of the best midfielders in the world and has been heavily linked with a return to Old Trafford in recent years.
The France international had previously been on City’s wishlist but Pep Guardiola has reportedly put an end to their pursuit of the Juventus star.
Pogba finished the season as Serie A’s top rated player and in the WhoScored.com European Team of the Season. In the last three Serie A campaigns only two players have completed more dribbles than Pogba (437).
