Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is eyeing a double swoop for Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard if West Ham avoid relegation this season, claims The Independent.
West Ham are currently four points clear of the bottom three after following up their 3-2 win over Chelsea with a 2-2 draw at Newcastle over the weekend.
Their plans for the summer hinge entirely on whether they are relegated or not but Moyes is already putting together a list of transfer targets for Premier League football next season.
Moyes is keeping a particularly close eye on former employers United, who are planning sweeping changes over the summer.
There are plenty of outgoings and incomings expected at Old Trafford and Moyes hopes to take advantage by prising Jones and Lingard away from Old Trafford.
Jones has dropped completely out of favour at United and been limited to just 136 minutes of Premier League action all season, while Lingard has also been forced to the fringes in the last year.
Lingard has struggled for any sort of form since a superb 2018 World Cup campaign for England and is running out of time to win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer again.
The 27-year-old has only made nine Premier League starts this season and has dropped further down the pecking order since Bruno Fernandes' arrival in January.
Lingard has only featured in one of United's five games in all competitions post-lockdown and hasn't scored from 20 attempts in the Premier League all season.
With Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho among United's top transfer targets, there is an increasing feeling Lingard will be forced out of his boyhood club this summer.
