Chelsea target signs new Roma deal

Roma have announced midfielder Radja Nainggolan has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2020.

Nainggolan, 28, was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer after being earmarked as a key signing by Antonio Conte.

However, the Belgium international, who had two years remaining on his previous deal, stayed put and has been rewarded with improved terms.

“During the financial period, the contract of Nainggolan, which was due to expire on June 30, 2018, has been extended,” read an entry in Roma’s annual financial results statement, via ESPN. “The new agreement has duration of five years, with an expiry of June 30, 2020.”
