Jones extends United stay

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has signed a new deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2019.

Jones only had one year to run on his previous deal and his position in the team appeared uncertain with the likes of Mats Hummels and Sergio Ramos reportedly targets of the club this summer, but he will remain at United for the next four years.

“I am delighted to have signed a new deal. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and am looking forward to continuing my development as a player,” Jones told United’s official website.
