Manchester United have shock €100m bid for Barcelona starlet rejected
Manchester United's shock offer of €100m (£89m) for Ansu Fati has been rejected by Barcelona, claims Spanish outlet SPORT.
Barcelona are in financial turmoil following the Coronavirus pandemic and are reportedly willing to listen to offers for almost all of their playing squad.
Only a select few have been ruled out for transfer and United have seemingly moved to poach one of their best talents.
Fati has been a revelation for Barcelona this season after making his first-team debut at the age of 16 back in August.
The teenage winger scored on just his second first-team appearance and followed that display up with a goal and assist in a 5-2 win over Valencia.
Fati really announced himself as one of Europe's leading prospects in the Champions League group stage earlier this season.
With Barcelona drawing 1-1 with Inter in their must-win tie, Fati was sent on and scored within 60 seconds to hand the Spanish side a vital victory.
Borussia Dortmund have earmarked Fati as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho, who is United's first-choice target this summer.
However, it has now emerged United's bid to make Fati their all-time record scorer has failed and Barcelona are determined to hold on to the teenager despite their financial concerns.
