Atletico Madrid midfielder unhappy at club

Thomas Partey has revealed he is unhappy at a lack of regular playing time at Atletico Madrid.

Atletico will reportedly lose Lucas Hernandez to Bayern Munich next month despite releasing a statement saying otherwise.

Diego Simeone could now have another problem on their hands after Thomas revealed on the eve of the January transfer window that he wants to play more regularly.

Partey only signed a new long-term deal with Atletico in March but only half of his league appearances this season have been starts (7/7).

The Ghanian midfielder has struggled for playing time following the return of Rodrigo from Villarreal in the summer and he has let his frustrations be known.

“Sometimes I feel unhappy at Atletico,” he told Spanish TV channel Gol, via AS. “You have to play in the important games to feel happy, to feel stronger and more confident.

Atletico are actually unbeaten in La Liga since the start of last season when Partey has not started, though they have drawn eight of those 20 matches.
