Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi has rejected the chance to return to the Old Lady.
The Serie A champions surprisingly sold their share of Berardi to Sassuolo last summer but included a buy-back clause in the Italy Under-21 international’s contract.
Juventus were always on course to match that clause this summer but Berardi has turned down the chance of joining Allegri’s side in favour of Europa League football with the Neroverdi.
“I’m sorry that he chose to remain with Sassuolo, but he’s a great player and one day he’ll play for Juventus,” Allegri told Mediaset, via Football Italia.
Berardi endured a frustrating campaign last time out despite Sassuolo’s surprising success. The 21-year-old only managed to score seven goals in 29 league appearances last season.

I think he should have gone to Juve this summer, but hopefully he'll continue to develop at Sassuolo for another year. Europa League will be good for him. I hope they make it out of the group.
