Manchester United are in advanced talks with Monaco for the signature of midfield maestro Bernardo Silva, reports France Football, via Get French Football.
Silva, 22, has been linked with a number of European giants this season after enjoying a superb campaign for Ligue 1 leaders Monaco.
The Portugal international was heavily mooted with a summer move to Chelsea but Jose Mourinho appears to be trying to do a number on his former club with United now in pole position to complete a reported €50m (£42.6m) deal.
Silva, whose current deal is not due to expire until 2020, is one of several players at the Principality Club that could fetch Monaco big money this summer following their breathtaking campaign.
The Portuguese is now starting to add quality in the final third of his game, having registered eight assists in Ligue 1 this season, at least five more than he has ever previously managed in a league campaign. Unsurprisingly, only Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri (9) has registered more in Ligue 1 this term.
