Borussia Dortmund demand huge fee for Manchester United target

Borussia Dortmund have warned Manchester United they will have to pay the full asking price for in-demand winger Jadon Sancho if they are to have any hopes of signing him this summer, even with the Coronavirus pandemic, reports The Standard.

Sancho has been heavily linked with a return to England in recent months, with United willing to pay big to secure his services.

The 20-year-old is reportedly commanding an asking price of £120m, such has been his flying form in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League this season.

However, all football is postponed for the time being due to the Coronavirus outbreak as everybody is urged to social distance to ease the spread.

This may have huge implications on future transfers, but Dortmund are adament they United would have to pay the full price to sign Sancho regardless.

"Even before the coronavirus outbreak, we said that we prefer that Jadon stays with us," Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said.

"At the end of the day, however, you always have to respect what the player wants.

"I'll say clearly that even the very rich clubs shouldn't believe that they can come here to snap up bargains.

"We don't have to sell anyone for less than they're worth."

Sancho is one of two players to register double figures for both goals (14) and assists (15) in Europe's top five leagues this season.
