Neymar has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain’s decision to sell fellow Brazilian Lucas Moura to Tottenham.
Moura will complete a £25m move to Tottenham on Wednesday after being transfer listed by the French giants at the start of the year.
The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United before eventually agreeing terms with Tottenham, but Neymar is not happy.
“For me, he should never have left Paris,” the London Evening Standard quote Neymar as saying on Tuesday night. “Here he could have been used a lot more but I am not the owner of the team, not the owner of Paris.
“I’m sad because he is a good friend, a quality player who was rarely used. I think it’s very unfair. I wish him the best. Whatever the destination, I hope he will score a lot and he will return to the Brazilian national team.”
Moura has spent the last five years at PSG but dropped completely out of favour under Unai Emery this season, restricted to just five substitute appearances in the league.
Nevertheless, only one player has completed more dribbles than Moura (264) in the last four Ligue 1 campaigns.
