Tottenham starlet signs a new deal

Tottenham have announced rising star Harry Winks has become the latest player to commit their long-term future to the club after signing a new five-and-a-half-year deal that runs until 2022.

Winks, 21, has been on the periphery of the Tottenham squad for the last two campaigns but has made his breakthrough this season and has often been trusted by Mauricio Pochettino in tense periods of big matches.

The England Under-21 international has shown a great sense of skill and maturity in his performances and has now been rewarded as Tottenham look to secure his long-term future.

Winks has only started two Premier League games this season but has made a further 15 appearances from the bench. Impressively, Pochettino has trusted Winks in games against almost all of their big rivals this season, which highlights what a bright future the central midfielder has.

Of Premier League players to have started more than one game in the Champions League this season Winks has the best pass success rate (93.9%).
