Valencia have reiterated captain Paco Alcacer is not for sale amid interest from Barcelona.
The La Liga champions have been heavily linked with a move for Alcacer in recent weeks as Luis Enrique looks to add a fourth striker to the squad before the window closes.
However, Barcelona may have hit a brick wall once in their quest to solve that issue in the squad once more after Valencia’s sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch ruled out Alcacer’s departure.
“He’s happy here and only thinking about scoring goals,” Marca quote him as saying.
“I spoke with him and the club, and he’s not for sale. He’s happy here and the club has no desire whatsoever to sell him.”
Since August 2013 Alcacer has scored at least seven more goals than any other player for Valencia in La Liga (30).
