Napoli are in pole position to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian, according to Calciomercato.
Darmian, 26, only joined United last summer but was left out of the matchday squad for their 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday leading to speculation he could leave before the window shuts.
The Italy international has already been touted with a move to Napoli and Roma, although United are reportedly hoping to recoup close to €20m (£17.3m) for the full-back, which could deter those in Italy.
Only Ashley Young (212.6 mins) has required fewer minutes per yellow card in the Premier League for United since the start of last season than Darmian (241.3 mins).
