West Ham enter race for Arsenal and Everton target

West Ham manager David Moyes has made Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi his number one January target should the La Liga side look to sell, suggests the Guardian.

The Hammers boss is hoping to add another midfielder to his squad and has been linked with a move to land Bournemouth’s Harry Arter.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for N’Zonzi, while Everton manager Sam Allardyce has expressed an interest in the Frenchman.

Moyes, though, believes that Eduardo Berizzo’s sacking as Sevilla head coach could complicate any deal.

“I think he’s somebody who would be of interest to us if he came on the market,” Moyes said when quizzed on the 29-year-old.

“I wouldn’t say that about others but he’s not playing for some reason at Sevilla – albeit the manager’s gone, so maybe that changes the situation there.”

Moyes has confirmed he is looking to make additions to the squad when the January transfer window opens, with Swansea centre-back Alfie Mawson another rumoured target for the Hammers.

“We’d like to add to the squad if we can and in this position we’ll need to. Hopefully we’ll have two or three in consideration.”
