Leicester have confirmed the arrival of highly-rated Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu on a five-year deal running until 2023.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal at the start of the summer but Leicester have won the race for his signature in a reported £19m deal.
Soyuncu is the second player Leicester have signed on deadline day and also the second centre-back, following the arrival of 21-year-old Filip Benkovic earlier in the day.
As well as the signing of Jonny Evans at the start of the window, Leicester now have five centre-backs to pick from for the new season after fending off interest from Manchester United in Harry Maguire.
Soyuncu is a Turkey international and another one for the future at the King Power Stadium, though he must cut out his tendency to make mistakes at the back.
In fact, he made more errors that directly led to an opposition goal than any other outfielder in the Bundesliga last season (5).
