Inter could sign Teixeira in January

Inter will sign Alex Teixeira on loan from Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning in the January transfer window, reports Tuttosport, via Football Italia.

Teixeira left Shakhtar to move to China in February 2016 in a stunning €50m (£44.3m) after his proposed move to Liverpool collapsed.

The 27-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth for Suning this season due to the fact Chinese Super League rules dictate each team may only field three foreign players at one time.

It means that Teixeira is battling with Trent Sainsbury for one final spot in the team given Benjamin Moukandjo’s form and Ramires status in the squad.

As a result, Inter are reportedly looking at taking the Brazilian on loan, which would not be a problem given the Suning group own both clubs.

Luciano Spalletti is short of a player that can operate behind the striker and believes Teixeira could provide Inter’s squad with a boost for the second half of the season.

In 43 appearances in the Chinese Super League, Teixeira has played a direct hand in 27 goals (17 goals, 10 assists).
