Koke extends Atletico deal

 

Koke has signed a new contract with Atletico Madrid, keeping him at the club until 2024. 

 

The 25-year-old started 36 of 38 La Liga games this season and earned a WhoScored rating of 7.16. 

 

“Koke renews until 2024. The international midfielder, one of the biggest symbols of our Academy, has signed his new contract with Atlético de Madrid until June 30th, 2024,” a statement read on the club’s official website. 

 

“Koke, and Atlético de Madrid have closed a renovation agreement by which the player from the ranks commits with our club until June 30th, 2024. The international midfielder has signed his new commitment that extends for five more seasons to those set in his previous contract.” 

 

On the new deal, the Spain international said: “Atleti is the club of my life and it’s an honour to be part of its future.”

Atletico’s director of football Jose Luiz Perez Caminero went on to add: "It’s fantastic news for all the Atléticos. Koke personifies what it is to be an Atlético. He is a very supportive player with the group, who works tirelessly, has the highest quality and an enormous desire for self-improvement.  

 

“He is one of this team’s leaders and has grown up since very young with the values of our Academy, so knowing that he will continue with us for many more years is the best of news. 

 

“Despite his youth, he is already very experienced and an example for all the children who are training in the Academy. He is a very dear and respected player in the dressing room and is going to go down in the club’s history."
