Everton consider Porto head coach to replace Allardyce

Everton are interested in appointing Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao as their manager for next season, reports The Times.

Sam Allardyce’s future at Goodison Park is still uncertain even though the former England manager is adamant he will still be at the club next season.

The 63-year-old will still have 12 months remaining on his current Everton deal at the end of the season but his first five months in charge have been underwhelming.

Allardyce has successfully steered Everton clear of the drop but the football has been dull and Everton even invited supporters to rate the job Allardyce has overseen.

Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca has previously been linked with the Everton hot seat but now the Toffees are considering Conceicao.

The 43-year-old was only appointed Porto head coach last summer but has led the Portuguese giants to their first league title since 2013 in his first season in charge.

Porto have both scored the most goals (81) and conceded the fewest (18) in Liga NOS this season.
