Manchester United have reached a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ to sign Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches, according to Portuguese paper Record.
The Red Devils haven’t actually agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old, but the Portuguese newspaper had a picture of Sanches splashed on their back page with the headline ‘Renato has his bags packed for Manchester’.
Details of the transfer are yet to be agreed between the two clubs, with Benfica hopeful of fetching €40m (£31.6m) up front and a further €20m (£15.8m) in performance related add-ons.
No Benfica player has been fouled more per game in the Champions League than Sanches (2.7) this season.

60m for an 18 year old with fewer than 20 top flight games? wow.
