Nantes manager Sergio Conceicao has turned down an approach from managerless Leicester City, reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football.
Leicester have begun their search for a new manager after sacking Claudio Ranieri last week just nine months after leading the club to the Premier League title.
Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare is the new favourite for the job after masterminding a 3-1 win over Liverpool in his first match in charge of first-team matters on Monday night.
However, there was a reported approach for Nantes’ manager before that, although Conceicao has turned down the chance to discuss terms with the Premier League strugglers.
The former Portugal international was only made Nantes manager in December 2016 and has steered the side clear off the bottom three and into midtable in his 14 matches in charge of the club.
In fact, since Conceicao took charge of Nantes only Monaco (26), Paris Saint-Germain (24) and Lyon (21) have recorded more points in Ligue 1 than Nantes (20).
