West Ham United’s appeal to overturn the red card Mark Noble was shown during their 3-0 win at Liverpool has been successful and the midfielder is now free to play in their next match, the club has confirmed.
Noble, 28, was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Danny Ings in the second half of their historic triumph at Anfield on Saturday by referee Kevin Friend.
However, on appeal, the decision has been overturned and Slaven Bilic will now have his captain available to play in their next outing against Newcastle United at home.
The England midfielder has started the season in impressive fashion having scored two league goals from four appearances. In fact, Noble could only manage two goals in 28 appearances in the league for West Ham last season.
