Real Madrid line up Brazilian superstar dubbed the 'next Kaka'

 

Real Madrid are interested in signing Sao Paulo midfielder Igor Gomes in a deal that could cost £45M, claims AS.

 

The Spanish giants have made a clear shift in transfer strategy in recent years to hoover up all the best talent from Brazil.

 

Madrid have spent in the region of £100M on Vinicius Junior, Reiner and Rodrygo within the last two years.

 

Lead by club scout Juni Calafat, Madrid have now set their sights on Sao Paulo starlet, Igor Gomes, who has been dubbed the 'next Kaka'.

The 21-year-old has also attracted interest from Sevilla, Barcelona and Ajax and now Madrid have entered the race for his signature.

 

Gomes has a €50M (£45M) release clause in his current Sao Paulo deal but Madrid would hope to secure his services for much less.

 

Last season was Gomes' breakout year and the youngster, who can play as a deep-lying midfielder or operate further forward, made 27 league appearances in total. He scored two goals and registered two assists in that time.
