AZ midfield Dynamo in Everton's sights

Everton are considering a move for AZ's midfield star man Teun Koopmeiners as head coach Carlo Ancelotti plans to improve his side in the off season, reports The Sun.

Toffees Director of Football Marcel Brands has identified Koopmeiners as a possible target for the Merseyside outfit with the 22-year-old enjoying a fine campaign up until Friday.

With the 2019/20 Eredivisie season now officially cancelled, and no champion to be decided due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Everton will look to test AZ's resolve for the youngster.

AZ were second in the Dutch top tier behind league leaders Ajax on goal difference only, with Koopmeiners vital to their push up the table.

The Dutchman has scored 11 league goals this season to help return a WhoScored rating of 7.43.

Brands believes Koopmeiners could be acquired for as little as £12m, which would be a coup for Everton and they plan on raising funds for the U21 Netherlands international through the sales of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Morgan Schneiderlin.

AC Milan are also believed to be keeping tabes on Koopmeiners, who has three years left to run on his current AZ deal.
