Valencia are interested in prising Ayoze Perez away from Newcastle United this summer, claims Chronicle Live.
Perez has spent the last five years at Newcastle and helped steer the Magpies clear of the relegation zone last season.
The 25-year-old still has two years left to run on his existing contract but Valencia are keen on the Spaniard.
Valencia want to bolster their offensive options for next season’s Champions League campaign and have earmarked Perez as a top transfer target.
Moving to Los Che would not only provide Perez with the chance to play in Europe’s elite club competition but also improve his chances of breaking in to the national team set-up with Spain.
Valencia are not the only team pursuing Perez, with clubs in Italy understood to be monitoring his future at St. James’ Park.
Perez is coming off his best campaign in front of goal since moving to Newcastle after breaking the 10-goal mark in the Premier League for the first time.
The Newcastle forward scored 12 times and registered two assists in 37 league appearances and picked up the WhoScored Man of the Match award three times.
