Manchester United will rival neighbours Manchester City in the race to sign Leonardo Bonucci, reports Manchester Evening News.
The Juventus centre-back has been strongly linked with a Premier League switch this summer, with City supposedly leading the charge to secure his services.
Chelsea have also shown an interest in the 29-year-old but look to have missed out on Bonucci and have since turned their attention to Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
United are now hoping to pip City to the Italian’s signature as they strive to strengthen this summer following a 5th-placed finish last season.
Jose Mourinho’s side have already signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal and it seems the United boss is keen to bolster his defence further with Bonucci.
