Joe Hart will return to Manchester City

West Ham have decided against signing Joe Hart on a permanent deal and he will return to Manchester City this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

The Hammers signed Hart on a season-long loan deal at the start of the season but things have not gone to plan for the England international.

Hart was deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola in 2016 and has since endured two loan stints away from the club, first at Italian side Torino.

The 31-year-old’s decline has been alarming and now Guardiola will have to deal with his future once again as West Ham do not want to keep him.

Hart will still have 12 months left to run on his lucrative current City deal at the end of the season and Guardiola’s side may find it difficult to find suitors.

His place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2018 World Cup is also seriously under threat and the general consensus is that he should have already played his final game for his country.

Hart has only made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season after losing his place in the West Ham team halfway through the campaign.

In that time, the veteran goalkeeper has made four errors that have directly led to goal, which only three players can better.
