West Ham not interested in Austin

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has declared that the club are not interested in signing Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin this month.

Austin, 26, has been heavily linked with a move away from Loftus Road this month, with a number of Premier League clubs reportedly monitoring his signature.

West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are among those suggested to be chasing his signature, but Bilic has categorically ruled the Hammers out of the running.

“He’s a good player and he’s been linked with most other clubs when they get related because of his record,” the West Ham manager is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.

“We were among those clubs in the summer, but we have chosen other options and now we are not looking for that kind of player.”

The QPR frontman has struggled with niggling injuries this season, but has still managed 10 goals in 16 appearances in the Championship, and without him, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbainks’s men would be much worse of than their current position of 16th.
