Manchester United vs Tottenham Confirmed XIs: Backup goalkeeper starts for Spurs
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has kept faith with backup goalkeeper Michel Vorm between the sticks for today’s FA Cup semi-final meeting with Manchester United.
The Dutchman has played every game in the competition for Spurs with Hugo Lloris dropping to the bench for the north London side.
Pochettino has also placed faith in Heung-min Son in the attacking three behind Harry Kane in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura relegated to the sidelines for the meeting with United.
Jose Mourinho has elected to start Alexis Sanchez in place of Marcus Rashford in his United starting XI, while Phil Jones has got the nod ahead of Eric Bailly at the heart of the defence following his man of the match display against Bournemouth.
United are lining up in their customary 4-3-3 formation as they look to secure a place in the final at Spurs’ expense.
The north London outfit have lost their last seven FA Cup semi-final matches and fell to a 4-2 loss to Chelsea at this stage of the competition on this day last year.
