Team News

Saint-Etienne
Guingamp
  • Renaud Cohade, Romain Hamouma and François Clerc all remain in the treatment room ahead of the welcome of Guingamp.
  • Midfielder Jérémy Clement will miss Saturday's game due to suspension, meaning Ismaël Diomandé should start in his stead this weekend.
  • Key players Franck Tabanou and Mevlut Erding are both doubts with muscular injuries and could be replaced by Jonathan Brison and Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
  • Benjamin Angoua will benefit from Christophe Kerbrat's suspension to start alongside Jérémy Sorbon at the back.
  • Claudio Beauvue had a wisdom tooth extracted this week and could miss out, while Sylvain Marveaux and Reynald Lemaître have both been ruled out of this one.
  • Jonas Lössl was forced off with an arm injury that needed stitches in Saturday's 2-1 home win to Toulouse and could be replaced by Mamadou Samassa here.

Prediction

  • Saint Etienne's win at Evian at the weekend did not only send their previous opponents in Ligue 2, but also gave them one final opportunity to reach Ligue 1's top three on the last day of the season. Les Verts must win this weekend and hope Monaco and Marseille struggle against the likes of Lorient and Bastia in the meantime.
  • Having managed to overcome Toulouse in their last home match of the campaign last time out, l'En Avant Guingamp now travel to Saint Etienne with no real objectives other than potentially finishing ahead of local rivals Rennes if they can win at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
  • L'AS Saint Etienne have not tasted Champions League football since the 1981/1982 season, but should manage to keep their end of the bargain against l'EAG in order to keep their dreams alive this year, hoping for their main competitors to commit a mistake on Saturday evening.
