Team News

Denmark
Germany
  • Injury to Rommedahl is likely to see the veteran ruled out of this one, with Mikkelsen and Schone vying to replace him on the wing.
  • Elsewhere Niki Zimling is also a doubt having been withdrawn in the first half against Portugal and he has undergone tests on a muscular injury.
  • If the midfielder cannot recover in time either Jakob or Christian Poulsen will be his replacement.
  • Joachim Low could make a few changes to his side as he looks to give a few star players a rest.
  • The likes of Klose, Schurrle, Gotze, Reus, Kroos and Bender could all come into contention, though the defence is likely to remain the same.
  • After an immensely impressive first half display against Holland, many are tipping the Germans to win the tournament and two wins have given Low the ideal opportunity to ensure his squad is fresh for the latter stages.

Prediction

  • If Denmark lose they are out, so Olsen's side certainly have more at stake than Germany, who know that a draw will be enough to see them top the group.
  • A draw would also be enough for the Danes if Netherlands beat Portugal and, although they need a result, Denmark will hope to keep this game in the balance until late on.
  • However, there is no doubt that Germany will be strong favourites and Low's side will look to make a statement by potentially being the only team to win all three of their group games, particularly coming out of what most heralded as the group of death.

  • Germany will win 3-1.

  • The lineups have been confirmed. Denmark is playing a 4-1-4-1 and Germany their usual 4-2-3-1. Only changes in the German team are Bender for suspended Boateng. Bendtner is playing for Denmark.

  • Denmark 0:1 Germany

  • haha, good one doru11. embarassing for a well respected football website like this one to not know about the suspension. also, podolski will surely play tonight as this will be his 100th cap. hopefully his performance will be worthy of this occasion.

  • It is probably this, German eleven : _______________________ Neuer ____________________ Lars Bender _____ Hummels _ Badstuber _____ Lahm _ _________________ Schweinsteiger __________________ ___________________________ Khedira _______________ _____ Müller ______ Özil _______________ Podolski _ _______________________ GOMEZ _____________________

  • boateng cant play...

  • you're funny...putting Boateng in the side ! my guess is, if he plays, Germany lose 3-0 !

  • The Germans run rampant but Eriksen will come out of his shell and have a few moments of brilliance despite having nobody to work with. Germany 4- Denmark 1 (Gotze, Schweinsteiger, Klose, Schurrle) (Eriksen)
