Team News

Estrela da Amadora
Vitoria de Guimaraes
  • Miguel Lopes return to action was unfortunate as he got injured again and won't be available here, joining Alan Ruiz on the sidelines.
  • José Faria might opt for a 5-men back line once again in order to try to neutralize Vitória SC' attack.
  • João Teixeira Mendes, Tiago Silva and João Mendes should get their spots at Starting XI back after being rested in midweek.
  • Alberto Baio had a decent performance in midweek and will be in competition with Bruno Gaspar to start at the right-hand side of the defense.

Prediction

  • Estrela had to go to extra time to beat Anadia, a 3rd tier team, and qualify for the next round of the Portuguese Cup. The ‘tricolores’ are looking to return to winning ways in Primeira Liga as they look to get out of the relegation zone.
  • Vitória SC's excellent form continued in midweek as they beat Djurgardens away from home in the UEFA Conference League. Rui Borges' men have shown a lot of quality, even when there's changes to the usual starting line-up, and the proof of that is their wonderful record of 13 wins in 17 games.
  • The hosts have won three of the last four games between the two teams at Reboleira and Vitória SC's wear and tear after playing a midweek game must be taken into account. The quality of the visitors and their form, however, should be enough to overcome these factors.
